About Chandigarh Housing Board
The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) was made in 1976 by using the Haryana Housing Board Act and it was then used for Chandigarh to give homes to people who need it. Its main aim is to provide affordable and planned houses to different types of people living in the city. Land is given to CHB by the Chandigarh Administration so that flats and even shops can be built in planned way. Many housing schemes are started by CHB where people are told to apply, and even reserved categories are allowed. It works under rules made in 1979 for giving and selling houses. Also, people living in wrong places are helped to shift in better houses which are built by CHB.
