About Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana
The “Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana” is the first fully state-sponsored urban housing scheme designed by Government of Sikkim to make homeownership accessible to thousands of homeless families who don’t have an access to their own home in the state. Under this scheme the government supports those urban locals who don’t have their permanent house in the state by allowing them with a means of living in the form of pucca house and make Sikkim a “Kuchta House Free” state. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana, applicant must have to meet the following eligibility criteria these are as follows:-
- Applicants must be a permanent resident of Sikkim.
- Applicants must not have their own house (an all-weather dwelling unit) either in her/his name in any part of India.
- Applicant’s family means father, mother and their minor children and includes major children living jointly with the parents as defined in The Sikkim Allotment of House Sites and Construction of Building (Regulation and Control) Act, 1985 are eligible to apply for the scheme.
- Applicants must be a SSC/COI/RC holder.
- Applicant must not have availed benefits from any other Housing Schemes being implemented under Government of India/Government of Sikkim
- There shall be no Regular Government employee in the beneficiary family.
- Applicant is required to submit a self-declaration affidavit sworn before a licensed oath commissioner declaring her/his eligibility to avail benefits under the housing scheme. Any declaration in the affidavit if found to be untrue will attract penal provisions as prescribed by the law and cancellation of all such benefits availed under the housing scheme.
- Annual income of the applying candidate’s family must be less than Rs 6 lakh per annum from all sources.
