- The applicant must be a citizen of India to be eligible for this scheme.
- He or she must have completed 18 years of age before the last date of submitting the application, and should be able to sign legal contracts.
- It has been allowed to apply even if the person already owns land or any built-up property in Delhi, so there is no ban on that.
- For people applying for EWS flats, the family income must not be more than Rs. 10 lakh in one year, and both the applicant’s and co-applicant’s income are seen separately.
- For other flat categories like LIG, MIG, and HIG, no income limit has been fixed, and the person can apply as per what they can afford or need.
- The meaning of family income is told to include both the income of the applicant and his or her spouse, in case they are married.
- The bank account must be a savings one and should be only in the name of the applicant, and the details of that account need to be filled in the form.
- A PAN card given under Income Tax Act is a must, and it should be written clearly in the form.
- If the flat is applied under the disability (Divyangjan) category, then the main applicant must be the one with disability, and the co-applicant should be a family member only.
- Family is told to mean mother, father, blood relatives, husband or wife, or any other relative who is dependent.
- It is advised by DDA that the co-allottee should be added while filling the form itself, not at a later stage to avoid problems.
